Where does the name Treegold & Beegold come from?
The name is a reference to the given bestowed upon Freyja's two cats who pull her chariot across the sky by the author Diana Paxson in her story Brisingamen. She wrote the names as Tregul and Bygul which mean Amber and Honey.
Who is behind Treegold & Beegold?
I'm Susan, sometimes known as Velody. I'm a married mom of two young children, a boy and a girl who has been following a pagan based faith for over 13 years now. I've always loved to create things and was taught to sew from a fairly young age. In the past few years, especially after my children were born, I've dedicated myself to creating more original designs.
What is the intention of Treegold & Beegold?
Once I became pregnant I quickly realized the plethora of items out there made for babies. I was overwhelmed by the shear amount of stuff, some quite odd in my opinion, that is made. One category of item I couldn't find though? There was nothing for specifically for the Pagan/Heathen parent. Yes there is plenty of earth or green themed items. But other than some t-shirts and onsies I couldn't find anything with a pentacle on it or directly marketed to Pagan/Heathen parents. So the idea of Treegold & Beegold came about to fill that void and make items specifically for this demographic.
