Monday Madness Recap 10/24/2011

I know many people do Weekly recaps on Sundays but for some reason my brain thinks best on Monday as it being the last day of the week and then I flip over. Normally I would do this sometime early in the morning but you’ll soon find out why. I got the idea recently from one of my G+ friends Volante who writes her own blog The Wandering Gypsie.

Where on Wednesday I’ll share awesome linkyness, on Mondays I’ll use it to share personal updates and projects I’ve been working on that either don’t make it to tutorials or are for the Etsy shop.

Now onto the past week at the Treegold & Beegold household.

First we’ve been feeling like crap. Yep that bad. I’m still feeling very lethargic but it’s getting better. Hey I’m getting a blog entry up right? I can’t be all that bad. It took a lot out of me to make sure I had up the tutorial for the Halloween tree. I had so much more planned but don’t fret some of it will just come at a later date instead.

Saturday I had a Bad Mom Moment. I screwed up big time but thankfully there was no lasting damage. I was holding Lil ‘R by the hand and trying to get him to come with me to the potty. Well he decided he wanted to watch Cars instead and pulled back hard. He sprained his elbow. We were worried that he had dislocated it, which happened 6 months or so back, so I rushed him to the ER. He was in a lot of pain so they took a few x-rays to make sure it was okay because he hadn’t dislocated it. It was swollen though and the Dr. said all the pain was from the swelling. He wrote us a script for IB profen with coden to help with both. Lil ‘R was very gentle with it the rest of the night but come morning you wouldn’t have known anything had happened at all.

blackandorangeminiwitchhat3_10-21-2011I spent a lot of energy last week making some more mini hats that I’ve been having a good success with in the Etsy shop and working on a major baby toy. Here are some pictures of the progress of the toy. It’s going to be a set of 4 cubes that are each themed after an element. The initial designing is time consuming but I’ve had this idea in my head for a year now and it’s so awesome to start seeing it come together.

I can’t wait to show off the final cubes. I hope you like the images so far.

Really though that has been the last week for the things that have been going on behind the scenes. Still job hunting too and put in a load of resumes but I really want to get this business going to so work work work.

Also I’m down about 6lbs now in the Get off Your Broom Challenge. I haven’t actually gotten any exercising done but I’m succeeding in the portion control challenge. I’m eating about a quarter less per meal then I was and I get full a lot faster. I see that as a definite step for long term success.

The rest of this week I need to finish those cubes, get a few good blog posts done for all of you great readers including another tutorial of a cute project I found a month or so back online, and prep stuff for another Samhain festival.

I hope you all had a great week and have a better one ahead of you.
