Growth

So far I've only made this blog about the store front but I've come to realize that first, that's a bit boring and two, I should make this a bit more personal. I already have a personal/crafting Blog over at Finangling Life but over there I completely leave out anything about spirituality. So since Treegold & Beegold is a storefront aimed at making items for Pagan/Heathen tots then maybe I need to re-explore faith here also. This topic won't be overtaking and in no way will it be that you'll never see a new item every again, lol. But I may combine that with topical pagan events and crafts. My every day crafts and Mommy things will still be over at Finangling Life so if you read that regularly stay put. There may be the occasional cross post but I don't plan on it.

This shift does make me a bit nervous though because I have family that as "Liked" the Treegold & Beegold page so they'll be able to see all of this. Though with all my family that has access to my Facebook page knows my beliefs are a bit different I've rarely talked with any of them about it. It's like politics in my family, it's one of those things you just don't talk much about. We'll see how it goes though.

I was commissioned by a friend to make a stuff item for their new puppy dog, I'm going to try to work on that this weekend. I'll put up finished images though whatever it is won't likely become a typical item in the shop.

Bottle Cap Designs

I've always had a interest in graphic design and have often incorporated my knowledge into my crafts, be it in designing patterns or as I came to learn hair bow design.

As in the previous hair bows I showed, they each have a bottle cap emblem that can be removed. The design within the bottle cap is of my own and I have made other designs that have yet to make it onto specific hair bows. I've even done a few custom image sheets. One was for a softball team, the customer wanted to have the name of the team and specific player's numbers in the images.

ElementalPrintoutwWatermark

This sheet is for the 5 elements, spirit, earth, air, fire and water. The great thing is the image can be sent to your local photo place, walmart, cvs, walgreens, etc. to be print on a 4x6 photo. Each image will then an 1 inch circle that can be punched out and used for anything you want. They fit perfectly within a bottle cap which are great for hair bows like I have done, scrapbooking, or even jewelry.

SportsPrintSheetwatermark

This was a custom order where the customer wanted some sports related images in various colors that also had the phrase "Play like a Girl" on them. The images are 100% created by me.

CurlzsSheet1Watermark

CurlzsSheet2Watermark

I love this set of initials with the blue stars. I intend to at least take the L to make a bow for Wee Rose. She looks great wearing blue. I have a variety of fonts at my disposal, I'm just very fond of this font. I think I may do a next series with hearts or maybe a patriot motif for the upcoming 4th of July.

All sheets can be purchased through my Facebook Fan Page and I'll gladly do custom orders for a very reasonable fee.

Pagan Born Bib

This is the first incarnation of what I believe will be many. It's made with cotton fabric, natural cotton batting to absorb any drooling. Will fit a newborn up to an estimated 24 months. My 10 month old very very chunky baby monkey who wears size 18 months in so clothes can still fit hers. The letters are fabric paint that has been heat treated to last many washes. Price is $5 and it can be found in the "Show Now" link in the left sidebar of the Facebook Fan Page.

Elemental Hairbow Line

I've produced 6 different designs in the bows and Seven bottle caps that can be interchanged. Four of the bows represent the Four elements while the others are more in tune with the 5th element, spirit. The bows are all 4 inches wide whereas the bottle caps are 1 inch in diameter.

If you would like to get into making bows yourself it is quite easy. On the references page I have up many links to sites I found useful for free tutorials. Also check out Youtube. I didn't spend anything on materials or tutorials and neither does anyone else. There is plenty of free information on the web.

Treegold & Beegold

Where does the name Treegold & Beegold come from?
The name is a reference to the given bestowed upon Freyja's two cats who pull her chariot across the sky by the author Diana Paxson in her story Brisingamen. She wrote the names as Tregul and Bygul which mean Amber and Honey.
Who is behind Treegold & Beegold?
I'm Susan, sometimes known as Velody. I'm a married mom of two young children, a boy and a girl who has been following a pagan based faith for over 13 years now. I've always loved to create things and was taught to sew from a fairly young age. In the past few years, especially after my children were born, I've dedicated myself to creating more original designs.
What is the intention of Treegold & Beegold?
Once I became pregnant I quickly realized the plethora of items out there made for babies. I was overwhelmed by the shear amount of stuff, some quite odd in my opinion, that is made. One category of item I couldn't find though? There was nothing for specifically for the Pagan/Heathen parent. Yes there is plenty of earth or green themed items. But other than some t-shirts and onsies I couldn't find anything with a pentacle on it or directly marketed to Pagan/Heathen parents. So the idea of Treegold & Beegold came about to fill that void and make items specifically for this demographic.
Do we do custom orders?
Yes we do. If you would like something different from what you see be it a minor difference or completely new design just contact me at treegoldandbeegold@gmail.com.
Where Items be purchased?
At this moment the best place is through our Facebook Fan Page. All payments go through paypal.

At this time I am working on the blog to get some of our items up hear to showcase. Please also check out the links page if you are interested in learning how to make hairbows yourself. I continuously try to add to it.
