Blog Challenge: 21 Days to a More Organized Home

The Mortician’s Wife has started a great series over at her blog and I’m going to take part. The goal is to get our homes organized. After the holidays it’s definitely something I need.
She’s going to be providing plenty of tips as she leads everyone along through the process. I can’t wait to see some of the tips from professional organizers. I’ll admit I think I’m pretty organized and even if I don’t do it I really do know what I’m supposed to do. My mother has always been horribly neat and I learned a lot from her. I’m hoping Lesley will have some good tips to make things as easy as they possibly can be.

Day 1: Hoping on Board

Why do I want a more organized home?

If my house gets too disorganized it greatly affects my mood. I often feel overwhelmed and depressed. I have a few problem areas in the house that severely need tackling.
These areas include:
  • The lesser used drawers and cupboards in the kitchen.
  • The front hall closet
  • My bedroom closet
  • The worst of the worst, The Garage!!
It takes forever to find anything in the garage and it’s something we’ve been neglecting for years.
My Hubby will probably kill me but here are some before shots. In some form of self defense the right side of the garage is normally very organized. At the moment boxes have been pulled out as we are in the middle of putting away holiday decorations.

  2. Since we live in such a small space everything is pretty well organized. It helps that we don't any room for excess stuff. If we don't use it, it goes.

The only messy area is the daybed in the other bedroom.
