This is my post today for the Spring Has Sprung Blog Hop. Make sure to check in and visit the rest of the participating blogs!
Yesterday the kids had their egg hunt, curtsey of the Spring Bunny.
Oh boy were they excited!
Lil ‘R spied the eggs in the backyard through the window. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him eat his breakfast so fast!
I was surprised at how well Wee Rose did. This was her first real egg hunt. She held her own basket and went around the yard with Daddy methodically looking for her eggs.
Lil ‘R was so excited he kept taking his sister’s eggs. This is something that goes back to my childhood as I have only 1 brother. My mom split the colors up so that my 5+ yr older brother wouldn’t take all the eggs.
Plastic eggs normally come with 6 colors:
Blue, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Yellow
Lil ‘R gets the first 3 of those and Wee Rose gets the last three. This way it’s real easy to put very specific gifts or clues to gifts in their eggs too.
Lil ‘R also got to receive his set of the Ostara/Spring Matching Game I made the tutorial of. He loved pairing up the cards, even if he didn’t play the game by the rules exactly.
He later tried to play with Wee Rose. She’d pick up a card and hand it to him. Then he’d match it up with those he already had in front of him.
It was incredibly cute.
We didn’t do as many things as I wanted to for Eostre. Last year I cooked a huge special breakfast which I didn’t get to and we didn’t dye eggs either.
We still had a great time though and next year should be easier. Trying to herd a pre-schooler and a toddler is tough.
I hope everyone else has had as much fun and is enjoying the blog hop! I can’t wait to jump around and see everyone else’s posts.
